Flemming out for season, will undergo surgery for lower-body injury

Syracuse wide receiver Adrian Flemming will require surgery for a lower-body injury and will miss the rest of the season, SU Athletics announced in a release Friday.

The senior missed all but five games last season with a high-ankle sprain and earned the Orange’s starting No. 2 receiver spot this year without having a career reception.

Flemming did make his first catch in SU’s 23-17 loss to Penn State on Saturday and finished with two receptions for 18 yards. Wide receivers coach Rob Moore had high expectations for Flemming, whom he said had the best training camp of any receiver.

As a sophomore, Flemming played primarily on special teams and he appeared in only two games as a freshman.
