Syracuse tight end Beckett Wales will practice on Wednesday, head coach Scott Shafer said.

“He’ll practice today,” Shafer said at the Atlantic Coast Conference coaches’ teleconference on Wednesday. “We’re looking forward to getting him back on the field.”

Wales missed all of the second half against then-No. 19 Northwestern with a sprained left ankle and was walking around campus with a boot on his foot on Monday.

After the Orange’s 48-27 loss to the Wildcats, Shafer said Wales’ ankles had been problematic before. He strapped ice onto both lower legs at times during training camp.

Shafer did not comment on Wales’ status against Wagner on Saturday.
