The Red Hot Chili Peppers are headed to the JMA Wireless Dome next year alongside the Strokes and King Princess.

The concert, which will be on April 14, is the first time the band has stopped in Syracuse since their 1991 performance with the Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam. The band also played at Syracuse University’s 1988 Block Party. Presale begins Dec. 8 and general sale begins Dec. 9.

The Chili Peppers, which are currently on tour for their two new albums, “Unlimited Love” and “Return of the Dream Canteen,” are made up of vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith. The band has won six Grammys and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. They are credited with being one of the first bands to combine genres like funk, punk rock, and psychedelic rock to create a new sound in songs such as “Under the Bridge,” “Aeroplane,” and “Purple Stain.”

The Strokes are a rock band based out of New York City. The group was formed in 1998 by vocalist Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr. both on guitar, bassist Nikolai Fraiture and drummer Fabrizio Moretti.

Their most recent album was “The New Abnormal” and featured nine indie-rock songs including “The Adults Are Talking,” which blew up on TikTok with over 146,000 uses in video clips. It was their first studio album in seven years, following “Comeback Machine” from 2013.

King Princess is an American singer from Brooklyn, New York. She began releasing music in 2018, with her debut single “1950” leading up to her EP “Make My Bed.” “1950” went on to go viral, racking up more than 500 million listens on Spotify. She gained popularity after being mentioned on social media by Harry Styles, who she later joined for his “Love on Tour.” The artist also joined Shawn Mendes and Kacey Musgraves on their tours.
